Recent chapter accomplishments
International Region- SSDP Nigeria spoke to students at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Abeokuta about substance abuse and evidence-based drug education. Over 1,000 students were in attendance for the seminar-style event. Chapter members who spoke include Moronfolu Adeniyi, Adeola Oyerinde, Ahmed Ogunbiyi, and Segun Oni.
- Kal Datz of the University of North Dakota spoke about harm reduction on a community forum panel hosted by the Grand Forks Public Health Department
- Northeast Ohio Medical University hosted a talk with alumnus Alex Dix about the medical benefits of cannabis that had over 50 students in attendance.
Southwest Region
- Denton County Community College: Chapter Founder and Leader Michael Smith drafted a petition for Denton County to allow for access to medical marijuana for patients.
Mid-Atlantic Region
- University of Maryland student government passed a resolution relaxing punishments for students over 21 years old possessing up to 10 grams of marijuana in a dorm, aligning campus policy with state policy. SSDP member Yusuf Mahmood spoke at the SGA meeting in favor of the resolution.
